About Hoop There It Is SD
Every business has a story. This is mine.
I’ve always been an inventor at heart. One night, sitting on my couch, spinning a pillow on my finger like a basketball, an idea clicked: what if the hoop didn’t wait for you to find a court? What if it just… showed up?
That question turned into a trailer full of hoops, and in 2024, it became Hoop There It Is — the first mobile basketball hoop rental in San Diego. No one else here was doing it. So I built it.
Since then, that trailer has rolled into driveways and school yards, birthday parties and company picnics, fundraisers, county fairs, and community festivals all over the city.
I built this because kids don’t need another game to play on a screen. They need one to play together, outside.

Our setup can be adjusted depending on the event layout, but we typically recommend approximately:
- 20 ft x 8.5 ft for trailer setup
- 30 ft x 8.5 ft with canopy/setup area
Additional room is helpful for lines, spectators, and gameplay.
If space is limited, we can usually work around it — just send us details or photos of the event area.
